Diagnostic Services

At Clinton Animal Hospital, early detection is key to keeping your pet healthy and happy.

Our in-house diagnostic services use advanced technology and a fully equipped laboratory, allowing us to quickly identify health concerns and begin treatment without delay. Faster answers mean less stress for you — and better outcomes for your furry family member.

In-House Laboratory

Our on-site lab lets us perform a wide range of tests right here at the clinic, so you don’t have to wait overnight for results. This is especially helpful for sick pets, urgent cases, or pre-anesthetic screenings.

Some of the tests we perform in-house include:

  • Liver enzyme screening
  • Pancreatic evaluation
  • Kidney (renal) profiles
  • Complete blood counts (CBC)
  • General chemistry panels
  • FeLV and FIV testing in cats
  • Heartworm testing
  • 4DX tickborne disease testing
  • Parvovirus testing in dogs

For specialized or rare tests, we partner with trusted outside laboratories to ensure your pet receives a comprehensive evaluation.

Digital Radiology (X-Rays)

Digital X-rays give us a quick, safe way to look inside your pet’s body. They allow us to examine bones, organs, and other structures to detect problems early. X-rays are commonly used to find:

  • Fractures or skeletal injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Foreign objects
  • Dental disease
  • Certain internal abnormalities

Because pets need to remain perfectly still for clear images, sedation or brief anesthesia is sometimes required. Most pets recover quickly and comfortably after these procedures.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive, pain-free tool that provides real-time images of your pet’s internal organs and systems. It is especially helpful for evaluating the liver, kidneys, spleen, gallbladder, stomach, intestines, and heart (via echocardiogram).

  • Ultrasound can help detect:
  • Organ abnormalities or blockages
  • Internal injuries
  • Soft tissue damage
  • Fluid accumulation
  • Heart valve or blood flow issues

When combined with X-rays and lab testing, ultrasound gives us a complete picture of your pet’s health. Mild sedation may be recommended to keep your pet calm and still during the procedure, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.

At Clinton Animal Hospital, we’re proud to provide fast, accurate diagnostics in a caring, family-friendly environment, helping your pet feel their best and giving you peace of mind.
